Shooting food to entice and taunt potential customers into desiring your food options.

Marissa Saurer's Overall Rating

"1. CROP MISSED-- Single-dish items are shot too close. Grubhub is looking for shots of food with some buffer between the dish in the center and the edges of the shot, at an approximate 50/50 ratio (food to background) 2. HERO SHOT MISSED-- there should be at least five menu items in the hero shot. Also, this doesn't even work as a hero because the donuts were not photographed as single-dish menu items. The hero shot should feature dishes that were photographed on their own. 3. PERSPECTIVE MISSED-- Single-dish menu items should be shot from a more natural perspective. Ideally, the angle should not exceed 60 degrees."

"1. HERO SHOT MISSED-- there are no note about a missing hero shot. A hero shot should always be included. 2. CROP MISSED-- Single-dish items are shot too close. Grubhub is looking for shots of food with some buffer between the dish in the center and the edges of the shot, at an approximate 50/50 ratio (food to background) 3. Please review the style guide before your next shoot. 4. Next time, try to include props such as utensils, napkins, drinks, side dishes, etc to communicate size and proportion. Implementing more propping in the frame will allow images to look less static and give diners more perspective."

Next time, try to take a hero shot with whatever space is available. Something is better than nothing. Thanks."
