Jay Kantor is a multifaceted visual artist, creative writer, and independent magazine publisher. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Film and Photography from Ithaca College, he emerged from the Art Center College of Design with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graduate Film. Jay's corporate video experience is also extensive, including spearheading the video departments for legendary retail companies The Stockroom and Syren Latex. As primary content creator he produced close to 150 projects ranging from commercials, product spins, red carpet events, fashion films, and more. Jay's more recent work has shown his focus on his photography, including the release of his first book "We're Not Fighting: Dreaming in Seattle." He is also immersed in the street art community, documenting the work of high-profile artists including Angelina Christina, David Flores, and Jules Muck of "Street Art Throwdown". Jay's experience with photography and videography displays great versatility and attention to detail, whether it’s working within documentary, experimental, or traditional narrative projects. The eclectic nature of his work reflects his philosophy that the image maker should not passively rely on the subject matter for meaning, but rather focus on the clarity and execution of a unique vision from start to finish.
