I am mindful in all endeavors. I studied philosophy at UC Berkeley, but at the time I also fell in love with cinema. After teaching mathematics I realized the possibility of working in video was within reach and had the courage to change my career. First I bought a DSLR camera that could shoot HD videos and soon I began also learning photography, as many of the basic elements are identical. Please view my website at www.eyeoftheabyss.com In 2013 I won the San Francisco Fashion Photographer of the Year award. I also have photographed food, commercial, product, weddings, real estate, head shots, cars, events, and for fun nature and landscape. Likewise in video I have shot for fashion, commercial, weddings, product, music video, etc., also narrative films, short, feature, and documentary. I continue to study all aspects of creating photos and videos. When I began shooting DSLR I only used manual mode as I knew by mastering this I could understand the three basics of all cameras, namely, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Of course there is much more to learn in terms of cameras, lights, sound, etc. In video there are different formats cameras record, different size sensors, different resolutions, color balance, movement, and then the practicality of working with a camera on set, such as whether it is bulky, has all the connectors necessary, is balanced, is stable to hold, easy to switch between shoulder mount, tripod, jib, or slider. Then there is the equally essential if not more important lighting.

"This is a strong set of images. Well lit with great attention to color. Some of the shots come across a little too posed, but there's a great variety of images. Successful shoot. "
