Ami Capen is a filmmaker, video editor and producer based in Oakland, California. She creates and collaborates on thought-provoking film, marketing and social media content exploring food, history, cultural identity, and global environmental issues. Ami has 15 years of experience producing/editing corporate and branded content for clients like Apple/Filemaker, Google/YouTube, Adobe and Sutter Health. She has performed multiple roles on documentaries and tv series, including producing, editing and post-production supervising. Recently, Ami produced/directed The Adobe Illustrator Story and edited for PBS's Food Forward series (2014). She also has credits on National Geographic Explorer's How to Build an Ancient Man (2011), Shiram Mama/Mama Yucca (2008), All in This Tea (2007), National Geographic’s Strange Days on Planet Earth (2005), MTV’s True Life doc series (2006) and In the Light of Reverence (2001). Ami has worked in France, Spain, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Mexico, the Caribbean and all over the United States. She thrives off creative collaboration, and brings her storytelling skills into every project.
