You probably have a Facebook page. So do your friends, your family and maybe even your cat. Everyone knows the social benefits of using Facebook. Many people don’t realize the commercial benefit of having a page for your business on Facebook. It’s gone from a novelty to a necessity for a business to have a presence on Facebook.
A Facebook page for your business will help you connect with your customers and generate buzz about your sales and services. Facebook has a history of changing the methods of creating business pages, but by following these few steps you’ll soon be collecting the coveted Facebook “Likes” for your business.
How to Create a Business Facebook Page
1. Visit Facebook Create a Page to get started
2. Add Your Location
You’ll have six choices, but for a business, you’ll want to select “Local Business or Place”. Fill in the details of your company and click “Get Started”.
3. Upload Profile Picture
On the next page you can select a profile picture for your business. This would be a great place for your business logo or a picture that captures the essence of your service.
4. Add a Description
The next step is to create an “About” page. Write a short summary of the products and services you offer. Be sure to include unique features that set you apart from your competition. There’s also a place to include a link to your business’ website.
5. Invite Your Friends
Once that is complete, you’ll be taken to your new page and the “Admin” panel. You’ll be prompted to be the first person to “Like” your page. Go for it. Additional prompts will appear to invite your friends and email contacts. You’ll be asked to share something on your business’ timeline. This is a good place for a welcome message or a brief introduction.
6. Add a Cover Photo
Now your basic page is complete. You can now play around with the different options and make your site perfect. Now would be a good time to upload a “Cover Photo”. This is a picture that appears across the top of your Facebook page. Just click the “Add a Cover” button and select the perfect picture for your page.
You can edit and update your page just like you can with your personal page. You can post photos and videos and update your business status with sales and promotions. The Admin panel will allow you to see who has sent messages to your page, how many people are viewing your new page and keep track of your “Likes”.
A Facebook page should be considered a modern business essential worth Facebook users numbering on the hundreds of millions, just think how many potential customers are just waiting for you.
