Would you like have an animated video for your website?
Are you looking for a way to better explain your business to potential customers?
But, you don’t have the $3,000-$20,000 to spend on a custom animated video?
In this post, we’ll explore a creative way you can get an affordable animated video for your business.
#1: Find a Template
You can search their extensive library for an animation that suits your needs.
Be extremely careful when making a selection and try to pick one that you would do little to no customization.
The more you customize a template, the more you’ll have to pay and the less happy you and your animator will be. Believe us we’ve seen it happen before.

If you can’t find a template that you like then you can always go the custom route.

#2: Find an Editor
At SmartShoot, we have some amazing editors who have worked on animated videos for Kabam, Mr. Number, Vook, and many more.
All you have to do is post the project and our curated pool of animators will compete for your business.
Be sure to include the template that you’d like to use when you post the project.
Other things you want to be sure to mention:
- Desired length of the video (if you want your video shorter than the template)
- Voice-over needs (yes you can add a voice-over to the template for an additional $50-$200)
- Any other concerns/changes you’d like to make to the template
#3: Choose the Right Editor
Don’t skim on price here.
Be sure to watch all the sample work and find one that best suits your style. While all our animators are vetted and rated, they may vary in terms of price and style.
You can also use our messaging system to collaborate with the editor before deciding on whom to work with.
Make sure the editor understands your deadlines (if you have any) and the more leeway you can give the better the video.
#4: Make Edits
All our videos come with 2 edit rounds. We suggest that you spend a lot of time during the first round to make sure you’ve covered everything you do NOT like with the video.
Be sure to be as detailed as possible.
Our patented video editing room allows you to time stamp each change making the process seamless for you and your editor.
You’ll want to save your second and final round of changes to add the finishing touches. Don’t make any dramatic changes during this last round as it may delay the editing process.
And if you must we can add additional edit rounds to the video for $100 per round. The most important thing for us is for you to be happy with the final video.
#5: Use Your Video
Upload your video to your favorite video site – YouTube or Vimeo. Then use it on your homepage or sales page.
Remember that video converts better than any other medium.
Neil Patel, co-founder of Crazy Egg, reports that his animated video drove an extra $21,000 a month.
And the Work.com homepage with video converted 20% more than its homepage without video.
